I want to be important

That's all I want to be.

I want to know that everybody

Wants to know about me.

I want people to take notice

When I pass them by,

And say out loud to other people

Hey, look! There goes that important guy!

I wouldn't nod or smile

Or give the game away

Because I know that’s the way I'd like them to be

If they were me,

and I were they.
