In Jan 1978 my friend Ian and I hitched from Sydney to Cairns, FNQ, and back. For many years after that hitchhiking was my preferred form of adventure-travel in various countries around the world.

The Baguette Bandit of Yackandandah
In September 2021 Ali Pockley, Editor of Yackity Yack, approached the Yack Writers group suggesting we might like to contribute to said publication on the mysterious appearances of randomly placed or dropped baguettes around the town and district of Yack. There had been much discussion on Yack community Facebook page on the phenomenon around that time. Many of us wrote pieces and they appeared in the Oct/Nov issue. This was mine.
